Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Afolashade Shona, has once again been honoured for her impact across business, leadership and philanthropy. She recently received three prestigious recognitions, further cementing her legacy of service.
Shona was conferred with awards by the Institute of Administrators and Researchers of Nigeria in recognition of her outstanding philanthropic contributions, as well as the Security Watch Award from Security Watch Africa.
In a major highlight of the evening, she and her husband, Victor Aluko were jointly awarded an honourary doctorate from the European American University.
The event, which held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, was a celebration of achievement, elegance and goodwill. Family, friends, dignitaries, and well-wishers gathered to honour the awardee in a setting that sparkled with joy and pride.
Draped in a flowing white gown with a matching, intricately designed headpiece that extended to her shoulders and hands, Shona radiated grace and gratitude throughout the afternoon. With her husband by her side, the couple drew admiration from all corners of the room.
Among the dignitaries present was the Director-General of the Institute of Chartered Administrators of Nigeria, Prof Dominic Opara, who presented the awards, commending Shona for her decades of dedication to business leadership and human capital development.
Taking the stage, Shona delivered an emotional message of appreciation, saying, “I just want to thank God. I am on my knees to say thank you to everybody. This honour humbles me deeply.”
