As the campaigns for the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship election kick off, the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state has said the state governor and the candidate of the party, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is, at the moment, racing to beat the deadline of good governance and infrastructural development he set for himself and will not be distracted by campaign activities at the moment.

Recall that since the Independent National Electoral Commission released the final list of candidates for the upcoming election and announced that official campaigns will kick off on June 11, 2025, only a few political parties have commenced campaigns out of the 16 political parties registered for the election.

In a press statement released on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Ejimofor Opara, said the governor and everyone on his team are consolidating on meeting their deadline; thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and Ndi Anambra will not accept excuses.

Opara insisted that across the length and breadth of the state, Soludo is stamping indelible footprints that require consolidation, and nothing will veer him off this track.

The statement read in part, “Since June 11, INEC has blown the whistle for the race to the “Lighthouse” Awka. Many have called to enquire about our plans for the campaigns.

“First, as a government, there are deadlines that Governor Soludo has set for himself and everyone on the Solution team. Thus, a campaign at this time would be more of a distraction, and Ndi Anambra will not accept excuses.

“Across the length and breadth of the state, Soludo is stamping indelible footprints that require consolidation; nothing will veer him off this track.

“For the first time in the state’s known history, Ndi Anambra will be making a decision based on massive evidence of sterling performance, not hearsay.

“However, for the sake of ‘election economics’, we are happy that the early birds are flocking around and keeping the square busy. They are the ‘Ulagas and Aji Busu’ in the masquerade cult. The Ijele will soon seize the entire space.

“Like Oliver De Coque of blessed memory sang many years ago: _’Enwelum nnukwu mmanwu, nwe Otimkpu. Nnukwu Mmanwu puta obodo awalu oso, otimkpu a na eti, gidi-gidi bu ugwu Eze’.”

He said that for now, Soludo is very busy, and APGA encourages him to remain focused, stating, “Our vehicle is sound, and the road ahead is clear.”
